Title: Rodolfo “Fito” Morales: A Pianist Blending Caribbean Rhythms with Jazz

Rodolfo “Fito” Morales is a self-taught pianist based in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, who has been enchanting audiences with his unique blend of Latin American and jazz music since 2005. With an innate improvisational talent and a vast knowledge of jazz vocabulary, Fito has established himself as a prominent figure in the local music scene.

Fito’s musical style is heavily influenced by a myriad of genres from Latin America, which he blends seamlessly with his jazz roots. His sound palette draws inspiration from Romanticism and Expressionism, creating a contrast with the rhythmic diversity found in the Caribbean islands. This combination results in a musical experience that is both harmonious and dynamic.

Fito’s talent as a pianist and composer has earned him recognition from both local and international audiences. He has been invited to perform in festivals such as the Dominican Republic Jazz Festival and the Santo Domingo Music Festival, where he has shared the stage with renowned musicians from all over the world. The newly formed trio consisted of the talented Pato Banda, hailing from Germany and playing the upright bass, as well as the exceptional Chilean drummer Pablo Sáez.
