Quinteto del Sur is a improvisation-oriented acoustic band  that combines Jazz, South - American rhythms, intelligent thoughtful melodies and eclectic sound. All of the songs composed and arranged and by the chilean drummer Pablo Sáez. Much of the music is a product of Pablo´s travells on 2006 and 2007 as a musician for different formations in Germany. Tunes such as "Lejos," "Negro," and "Nada" are melodic Themes with simple musical arrangements using southamerican folk Patterns like Tonada, Lando or Cueca with modal chord progressions. Songs such as "Sal" or "Alicia en el Paisdemasvaletardequenunca", feature a Arabic North african influence ground of lots Latinamerican grooves. All and all the band tries to incorporate a musical style that best fits the lyrics and spirit of the song and tries to provide music that one can listen to, think about, enjoy.
